The New Westminster and District Band Society is a thriving community band organization serving the entire Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley. Members of the Society’s bands represent fifteen different municipalities.
Now in operation for over 90 years, the Society is proud to offer programs from September through June to amateur musicians who range in age from 16 to 65 and over. The atmosphere in each of the bands is one of high expectations within an enjoyable, supportive rehearsal and learning environment. Each of the directors is a master teacher and an excellent musician.
Concerts are scheduled throughout the year and often include a Fall “Pops Concert”, a Christmas Concert, a Spring Concert, and a Father’s Day Concert. In addition, other performances are scheduled at festivals, public events, etc. as opportunities arise. (Click on More Information – Concerts above for details on specific events).
The Concert Band rehearses Monday evenings. The Jazz Band rehearses Tuesday evenings. Both our bands rehearse at the Salvation Army, 325 6th Street, New Westminster.
Please contact us at nwdbenquiries@gmail.com if you are interested in playing in one of the Society’s ensembles. Annual fees are $350 with special rates for multiple members of the same family and full-time students. New members are always welcome!
